More Information for Parents
Our basketball camps offer a safe, fun and supportive environment for children during the school holidays. They help children stay active, build confidence and friendships, while giving parents trusted holiday childcare.
Supporting Children
Our basketball camps help children and teenagers stay active, have fun, and make new friends in a welcoming and supportive environment. Sessions are designed to be inclusive and enjoyable for all abilities, helping children feel comfortable, confident and involved.
Alongside the physical activity, camps naturally support confidence, social skills and wellbeing, giving children the space to try new things, work together, and enjoy positive experiences during the school holidays.
Camp Environment
We understand how important it is for parents to feel confident about where their child is spending time. All our coaches have had appropriate checks done to ensure they are suitable to work with children. You can also see our safeguarding policy here. We strive to continually support children’s safety and wellbeing.
Our basketball camps offer reliable holiday activities, giving parents peace of mind while children enjoy an active and positive camp experience.
Moving Up
Our camps are structured to gently support children who are preparing for their new school.
Children who are still in primary school have the opportunity to take part in activities with Year 7 & 8s. This helps them build confidence, independence, and support networks ahead of starting Year 7.
In addition to this our summer Development Camps for years 5-10, are again a chance for younger players to gain confidence amongst secondary school children. We encourage our older players to always be positive role models, both on and off the court.
Jess Austin works with local schools, focusing on the key transition from Primary into Secondary. Our camps are designed to support children as best as we can in that move.
Please contact us if you have any questions or see our basketball camps page for upcoming camp and booking information.
About the Coaches
Hello, I’m Jess, the head coach at the basketball camps and school-based activities. I attended St Peter’s School in Guildford growing up and played basketball at National League level and represented South East England on several occasions.
I lived in New Zealand for a couple of years as a young adult, I volunteered to coach basketball at the local high school there and also successfully ran my own holiday camps and one to one skills based sessions.
I have been involved as a player and coach in many clubs around the Surrey area. My goal for the camps is to create a really positive atmosphere and make sports engaging, fun and enjoyable for all children.
I have a team of coaches working with me at the camps, carefully selected from the Surrey University basketball teams and also volunteer assistants from local sixth forms/colleges. All coaches have enhanced DBS checks. You can see our safeguarding policy here.
